Time to Celebrate!

Division Street Watch Co., Chicago’s only vintage watch shop, is celebrating one year of business on September 6th, 2011. Located at 2017 West Division Street, in the heart of Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood, Division Street Watch Co. boasts a vast collection of vintage Swiss made watches. Vintage Rolexes, Omegas, Longines’, Gallets, and Breitlings are beautifully displayed. All collections carried at Division Street Watch Co. were hand crafted in the late 1940’s extending into the early 1970’s, the golden age of watch making. Each piece is truly unique.

Division Street Watch Co. is a vintage watch collectors dream. Tucked away in a cozy neighborhood, rather than downtown on busy Jeweler’s Row, Division Street Watch Co. provides the customer with an intimate experience from beginning to end. Vintage watch experts aid in finding the perfect watch, replacing vintage watch parts or help revamp the accessories on a vintage time piece. Division Street Watch Co. is a must for anyone seeking a unique, beautiful and historical piece of wearable art.

Share your recipes, please!

In my desire to beautifully decorate our home, I purchased four pounds of cranberries to fill a very large vase that is also accompanied by squigly tree branches with silver bead tinsel... anyways... I accidently purchased four pounds of dried cranberries. What does this mean? A couple of things:

  1. I purchased the wrong kind of cranberries.
  2. These can not be placed in a vase for a month's time, and must get used-up quickly!
  3. My family members will be enjoying many, many cranberry treats this holiday season. Get ready, folks!
Please help me come up with several unique cranberry recipes... bars, granola, drinks, anything!

...and for the mamma...

help me stitch

I recently purchased this necklace at STITCH after my mother's breast cancer surgery was complete. I purchased a special token necklace for her (with personal, important meaning behind it) and this necklace for me to remind me of how lucky we are and to bring me luck as well. I adore this necklace and everything it stands for in my life.

Then the clasp broke.

Although I'm not trying to be dramatic... I am devastated over it! Here's hoping STITCH has a replacement for me; I'm going to try to stop-by there tomorrow and see about making a little switch-a-roo.

coco irene

It is my absolute pleasure to introduce Coco Irene, Chicago's source for gorgeous bib necklaces and other accessories. The real pleasure is all mine because I'm honored to be one of the first blogs to feature this company, as I believe we'll see these unique pieces gracing the covers of magazines soon!
Coco Irene is created by a Chicago duo who take their love of vintage movies and contemporary clothing and carve out an unfussy, effortless yet completely unique look. First beginning as a clothing line, Coco Irene has evolved into a collection of intricate accessories made from vintage and antique materials.

Creative Director and Designer Veronica Sheaffer is a self-taught seamstress who was born with an eye for vintage fashion. She previously designed 70s inspired apparel under the label Bionica Fashions in NYC and now creates retro and historical bridal gowns. Taryn Parker, Operations Director, brings experience in finance with a focus in small business, and a burning desire to help create interesting accessories that she would feel fabulous in. Together, Parker and Sheaffer create a look that blends feminine fashion with edgy individualism. Parker brings the business brain to Coco Irene, while Sheaffer's fashion aesthetic and skill drive the look.

A late-night sewing circle was the spark for the line's name: Sheaffer felt that her grandmother's name Irene typified a timeless quality and a direct inspiration, while Parker joked that cocoa and vanilla summed up the duos skin tones.
As simple as that, Coco Irene just stuck.

Our goal is to provide a direct shopping experience with our lovely customers, and we hope you enjoy the collection as much as we do!
