A dining room and kitchen to die for... someday, someday!

fall/winter projects

When the weather begins to get chilly, I'm going to keep busy with several exciting projects!

Plantation shutters are excellent for blocking light from your room and for ultimate privacy.

Black paint in the bathroom

Backsplash in the kitchen

as easy as black + white

If I were to re-do the style of my home, I think I'd focus on black + white for everything with a splash of color in each room... ahh... these are gorgeous images! {click the image for source}

back *splish* splash

Always in the mood for a revamp of my living quarters, I'm recently infatuated with the idea that the kitchen is in need of a fabulous tile or glass back-splash. Do you have a company that you would like to suggest?

sneak-peek into Chicago's own West Elm

This morning I had the absolute pleasure of attending the pre-Grand Opening event at Chicago's own West Elm store on North Avenue in Lincoln Park. I'll be writing about my experience soon, but here is a sneak-peek at what I saw...

tablet time: viceroy palm springs

A tablet can be many things: a scratch pad of paper, a pill, etc.

My tablet of choice, however, is Tablet Hotels. As quoted from the Tablet Hotels website "Tablet Hotels is the cure for boring travel -- the one-stop prescription shop for the jaded and harried traveler." ... and I couldn't agree more. After five minutes on the site, I fell in love and have been addicted ever since! Not only does Tablet Hotels showcase the most amazing boutique hotels around the world and offer rooms at amazing prices, the website also provides 'tablet guides' which direct even the most discerning traveler to the hotel's nearest and most coveted restaurants and entertainment venues. Bliss!

I am going to try to find time to provide a regular segment on Chocolate Pizza Stiletto Love called 'tablet time' where I will showcase one of my most recent and favorite finds from Tablet Hotels. This week...

Viceroy Palm Springs in Palm Springs, California

Style: Cutting-Edge

Atmosphere: Secluded

64 Rooms

It seems everything old becomes new again someday; who’d have thought geriatric Palm Springs could relive its glamorous glory days? Yet that’s just what’s happening, as a new generation of Angelenos skips out on Beverly Hills and heads inland to this desert oasis hideaway. And in Palm Springs, it doesn’t get more stylish than the Viceroy—once the Estrella, this place has seen it all, from Joan Crawford and Errol Flynn to American presidents and one King.

rockin' in style

You probably remember this post... where I announced that I had won something amazing... well, finally I remembered to post a photo of it for you! My new rocker, one that I have always wanted, is at ease in it's new home.

Rocco likes it too.

Thanks again to The Snoopster!

Can you even believe it!?! I won! Me. I won. This is amazing!

One of my favorite local blogs, The Snoopster, is notorious for finding incredible home decor items and assisting in inspiring home-owners across the metro area! She also offers a regular 'giveaway' opportunity on the blog. I was the lucky winner of this rocker, something I've had my eye on for many many years! I am beyond excited and feeling lucky. Perhaps this is a good time to head down to Vegas? Nah... I'll keep my luck local this time. If you're hoping my luck will rub off on you, please visit The Snoopster and see about winning yourself this classy 'ghost chair' with your creative haiku!

cover it up!

This fall/winter season, Prince Charming and I would like to cover up our main room windows with something that will also assist in keeping the heating bill lower than usual. Over the course of the last two hours, I have now gotten my heart set on these...

Wool Panel with Grommets
gorgeous gray wool curtains
from West Elm

...however, these curtains cost roughly $100 per panel and we need six of them! Do you know of any more affordable options? [Our windows span 135" wide and over 100" tall.. and we have two sets of those.]
