One of my favorite vacations ever was to Vermont actually- its so beautiful and there are a ton of things to do- wonderful shops and great scenery everywhere- good food--they also have an awesome mountain--for skiing snowboarding, alpine sliding and a gorgeous gondala ride :)
Oh and if you like the Sound of Music you totally have to visit or even stay at the Trapp Family Lodge :)
