Audition, or no?

I've been asked to participate in an interview with Four Weddings; 

this is both an honor and a curse!

What a great concept, four girls go to each other's weddings and then vote on which was the best (or most fun?). The winner receives a free honeymoon? Am I missing something? Why wouldn't you want to do this? 

Well, what if the camera crew is invasive on the small family affair? What do you think? Thoughts?

To shower or not to shower

Bridal shower, that is.

Part of me wants nothing to do with the tradition of the bridal shower. It's pomp & circumstance, opening gifts in front of people... Gifts you've picked out, mind you... And another weekend dedicated to wedding 'stuff'. Ick.

Lately, though, with the removal of most things traditional from our wedding plans, I wonder if this is one of the things we'll regret not having a part of the plan.

In my desire to beautifully decorate our home, I purchased four pounds of cranberries to fill a very large vase that is also accompanied by squigly tree branches with silver bead tinsel... anyways... I accidently purchased four pounds of dried cranberries. What does this mean? A couple of things:

1. I purchased the wrong kind of cranberries.
2. These can not be placed in a vase for a month's time, and must get used-up quickly!
3. My family members will be enjoying many, many cranberry treats this holiday season. Get ready, folks!

Please help me come up with several unique cranberry recipes... bars, granola, drinks, anything!

where to say i do

Because Prince Charming and I are planning to tie-the-knot in the same place we celebrate this moment in our lives, we are posed with a tiny challenge. We have to create an ambience for where to say "I do!" The location has been chosen, now on to the actual decor for the ceremony...

I've been looking around on a lot of blogs, and am looking for something elegant but not too 'over done.' Got any ideas? This is my current inspiration... please share your thoughts!

I can't wait for the engagement photo session. Not so sure about Prince Charming... I'm sure he'll enjoy it in the moment... but perhaps he doesn't realize how fun it's going to be? He will soon see! I can't wait.

P.S. I need a notebook. I found a ~seemingly~ great one by Smythson, but am not sure it is worthy of $73. Do you have a special notebook to recommend, or perhaps I should create my own?

I'm in love with the man of my dreams

and he loves me!

So much so,

he's asked me to marry him!

What's the problem you asked? Well, it's just that when I think about organizing our special day, to celebrate our love with our family, I don't know where to start. I have too many likes. Every idea I see on the 1,000+ wedding blogs I read is a brilliant/gorgeous/fun one and I can't decide what best says 'us'.

Surprise Find

Immediately following our engagement, I told Prince Charming I wanted to take a month to soak-in all the 'just engaged' goodness instead of rushing into the wedding planning madness (it's going to madness, isn't it?). But, I can't help that these beautiful finds jumped out in front of me today!
